ADVENTURES newsletter (January 2026)
Advent Fellowship Luncheon - January 22, 2026
Fellowship Lunch Coming! It's at Noon in the Parish Hall. $7. It will be hosted by these charming Adventers: Susan and Al Kaempfer, Shirley Punshon and Mary Claire Lovell. The menu will be Sausage Corn Chowder with the fixings. Yummy! The program will be Mary Claire Lovell sharing her artwork with us. Sign up in all the usual places or call the office by Tuesday, January 20th. 2026 Stewardship Letter
The 2026 Stewardship Letter will be mailed out the week of December 29, 2025. We have tried to avoid many of the holiday mailings, so please look for it and read it. The intent is to focus on the three areas of Stewardship, which should occur each and every day of our Christian lives, not just about the monetary aspect. Read, inwardly digest it, pray about it and respond. Again, no hard sell because Adventurers practice stewardship well. Eucharistic Visitor Ministry
Your Vestry is very pleased to announce the return of this very important ministry. It has been a few years since we had a licensed Eucharistic Visitor, but recently Dr. Michael Haney completed the short class and is licensed. He has actually visited a parishioner already and brought her communion, fellowship and most importantly a connection to all of us at Advent. We will figure out a rotation to visit our homebound parishioners. We want to reach out to those who might be home for a shorter time for illness and/or surgery and unable to come to church too. Please let a Vestry member or the office know of any need. Remember that we only have one person now. Hopefully, a class will be held in early ‘26 and we have two volunteers waiting to go! Cuban Companion Parish Mission Trip
Due to widespread illness from mosquito-borne disease and an active Covid variant, the mission trip has sadly been cancelled for now. This is done for the safety and health of our missionaries. We hope to reschedule next year when conditions improve. Please pray for our companion parish, La Trinidad in Los Arabos, Cuba and all the people of Cuba as they live through this health scare. Godly Play has resumed for the Fall. The class meets in the Evelyn & Bill May Godly Play Room at 10:15 on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Sundays each month.
