Advent has a very active Parent's Association. Its functions are fund raising, creating social events so parents can better connect and coordinating volunteers for the school.
Our next event for the school year is Grand buddies Day, February 13 and 14. The grandbuddies will have breakfast and enjoy many actviities with their special young person.
Still coming this year wil be a movie night at the school and a Spring into Summer carnival event.
Chapel
Our weekly chapels are praise and worship events. The chapel time always starts out with a praise song and ends with a talk (prayer) with God. Between the two, the children hear a story from the Bible. The stories are told in an upbeat manner and involve interaction with the children. In the Fall the stories are from the Old Testament and after Christmas the New Testament is emphasized.
Nutritional Snacks
Advent has a variety of snacks that we use weekly. The main ones are crackers and cheese, goldfish, graham crackers, vanilla wafers and seasonal fruit. Once a week the item made in cooking is the snack.
Fees
Our tuition is an annual fee that we divide up into 10 equal payments. The payments start in August and run through May.
We also offered the opportunity to add an extended day to the normal
3 hour day. A punch card needs to be purchased before your child stays.
Silent Auction Outcome
The auction was a wonderful affair. The food, band and general atmophere was very festive and enjoyable. Financially the auction netted around $20,000. Those monies will help us with many capital improvements over the next few months. Thank you to all who made it such a great event.
Registration is Coming
Register for the fall of 2012 during the month of January. All current students register the week of January 23 and then the next week we will call people who have shown interest in our program.
