Welcome to the 2010/11 school year!
The new school year will be starting August 23 with orientations both Monday the 23 and Tuesday the 24. On Wednesday the 25th leave your child with his/her capable teachers and join other parents in the Parish Hall for “Join us for Java.”
Grand Buddie’s Corner Coming Soon
Using money raised by the parent association the school is relocating and upgrading its library. It is looking very good and is a wonderful resource for the staff. We are dedicating it to our grand buddies. The hope is that we can have grand buddies use the room to read to the children in small groups starting in the fall.
Advent Parent's Association
Advent has a very active Parent’s Association. Its functions are fund raising, creating
social events so parents can better connect and coordinating volunteers for the school.
The start of school is very busy for them.
August 25 and 26 – Join us for Java in the Parish Hall (9-11AM)
Playdates for each age group during September
Grand buddies breakfast – October 7 & 8
Silent Auction
Plan to join us for a fun filled evening !
The Silent Auction is going to be held on November 5, 2010. Besides being a great fun event, the Auction normally raises over $30,000. The money is used for major improvements in the facilities at the school. Advent parents are critical in helping make Advent a wonderful place to be.
Chapel
Our weekly chapels are praise and worship events. The chapel time always starts out with a praise song and ends with a talk (prayer) with God. Between the two, the children hear a story from the Bible. The stories are told in an upbeat manner and involve interaction with the children. In the Fall the stories are from the Old Testament and after Christmas the New Testament is emphasized.
Nutritional Snacks
Advent has a variety of snacks that we use weekly. The main ones are crackers and cheese, goldfish, graham crackers, vanilla wafers and seasonal fruit. Once a week the item made in cooking is the snack.

Fees
Our tuition is an annual fee that we divide up into 10 equal payments. The payments start in August and run through May.
We also offered the opportunity to add an extended day to the normal
3 hour day. We will bill you each month for the days you stay.
|
 | In order to promote a healthy classroom environment, we are asking that every child wash his/her hands upon entering their classroom each day. Please help support us in this practice. Thank you! |
Spirit Days Show your school spirit! Wear your Advent t-shirt every Thursday and Friday.
We are in the process of working on a new design so new shirts will be available soon.
The office continually collects:
|
Box Tops
We collect the General Mills Box Tops for Education. Please look for them and think of us!
|
Labels
This year we are also collecting Campbell's labels and Tyson's Chicken.
