 Announcements

Welcome to the 2009/10 school year!

 Advent Parent's Association

The Parents Association has been very busy this year. Grandparents' Day was a huge success. It will definitely be a yearly event.

In the spring some fun events to look for are:

       Age appropriate play dates

Fun afternoon of pizza and jumping at Zoinks

       Spirit night at Chick-fil-a

       Advent Farm Day

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction was held November 13, 2009. Besides being a great fun event, the Auction raised over $32,000. The money will be used for major improvements in the facilities at the school. Advent parents are critical in helping make Advent a wonderful place to be.

2010/11 School Year  - new class offering

Advent is adding a new class option for the school year 2010-2011. We are creating an opportunity for ten 3- and 4-year olds to have a longer day. The program will run from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

The students will start in early morning, an age-appropriate class from 9 a.m. until 12 noon, attend the after-school lunch bunch and at 3 p.m.,  group together with the late day teacher for quiet time and small group activities.

The cost of the full day program is $7,000 for the school year. Payments are divided into ten equal payments of $700 due at the start of each month.

Advent is trying to meet the needs of the community and hopes that adding this longer day will give parents, who would not otherwise be able to, an opportunity to experience our program.

Chapel

Our weekly chapels are praise and worship events. The chapel time always starts out with a praise song and ends with a talk (prayer) with God. Between the two, the children hear a story from the Bible. The stories are told in an upbeat manner and involve interaction with the children. In the Fall the stories are from the Old Testament and after Christmas the New Testament is emphasized.

Nutritional Snacks

Advent has a variety of snacks that we use weekly. The main ones are crackers and cheese, goldfish, graham crackers, vanilla wafers and seasonal fruit. Once a week the item made in cooking is the snack.

Fees

Our tuition is an annual fee that we divide up into 10 equal payments. The payments start in August and run through May.

In order to  promote a healthy classroom environment, we are asking that every child wash his/her hands upon entering their classroom each day.  Please help support us in this practice.  Thank you!
Spirit Days
Show your school spirit!  Wear your Advent t-shirt every Thursday and Friday.  T-shirts are on sale in the office for $10.00

The office continually collects:

Box Tops

We collect the General Mills Box Tops for Education.  Please look for them and think of us!

This year we are also collecting Campbell's labels and Tyson's Chicken.
